I’ve helped pretty much every type of “local” business get more and better reviews, and get more customers(or clients or patients) out of the deal.Here are what I consider to be the top 10 mistakes to avoid if you want to get dialed-in on reviews:

1.Not asking customers.The few unhappy customers are the most likely to review you.But even the happiest customers don’t feel the same compulsion.Encourage them to speak up online, or you (and would-be customers) will probably only hear from the angry ones.

2.Not following up.People get distracted and forget.Just because you asked them and they haven’t reviewed you doesn’t meant they won’t review you.Ideally you ask once in-person and follow up at least once by email.Just send a friendly, no-pressure reminder.Make it sound like a personal favor, not like an obligation.
